- Final Inspection
Rough-in is the stage where electrical wiring, plumbing lines and HVAC ducting go into the open walls and ceilings. The city inspects this work before insulation and drywall cover it, so getting it right now matters for everything that follows.
Update: Rough-in
Walls and ceilings are framed, with wiring, recessed light boxes, plumbing and ducting being installed ahead of inspection.

Update: Framing
The ADU’s walls, ceiling joists and roof structure take shape. Framing defines the room layout — two bedrooms plus an open living and kitchen area.

What Comes Next
Rough-in inspection
The city reviews electrical, plumbing and mechanical work before walls are closed.
Insulation & drywall
Insulation goes in for energy compliance, followed by drywall, tape and texture.
Finishes
Cabinets, flooring, fixtures, paint and trim turn the shell into a home.
