Planning and Preconstruction

How do we start a project with RealHomes?

Share the property address, the work you want, your priorities, timing and any records you already have. We then determine the right next step — usually a consultation followed by a site review.

Can you give a price before visiting the property?

A broad discussion may be possible, but a reliable proposal normally requires a site review and a defined scope. A preliminary price is only as reliable as the scope behind it.

Do I need plans or permits?

It depends on the work and your city. ADUs, room additions and structural or system changes commonly require plans and permits.

Can RealHomes coordinate design and permits?

Yes. When included in the written scope, we coordinate qualified design and engineering professionals and the permit process.

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on scope, decisions, permit review, materials, inspections and existing conditions. We identify key decision dates early to help protect the schedule.

When do I choose materials?

Required selections and decision dates are identified during preconstruction, before construction begins, to help protect the schedule.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The initial consultation is free. We discuss your goals, priorities, timing and the right next step for your property.

Construction and Closeout

Can we stay in the home during construction?

Sometimes. It depends on the affected rooms, utilities, safety and the level of disruption. Logistics should be planned before construction.

How are changes handled?

Changes are documented in writing, including the revised work and any effect on price or schedule.

How are payments structured?

The written contract sets out the payment schedule and the terms that apply to your project.

Who will communicate with us?

A point of contact, communication methods and decision responsibilities are established before construction begins.

How is our home protected?

Protection may include work-zone separation, floor protection, dust control and planned site access.

What happens at completion?

The team conducts a final walkthrough, documents completion items and organizes the applicable closeout information.
